Guess What? Project B Designs' News!

I just heard some fabulous news! Project B Designs is now at The Funky Playground! I love playing at the playground! I was so worried that all of the Elemental Scraps' designers being "homeless" or displaced after they closed their doors. However, in retrospect, I should have known all my faves would find a new home!!!! Isn't this fabulous!?? I think so!

Today was crazy, but life is GOOD!

Today was a craaazy day....It started out normal. The usual laundry, hanging out, watching some TV, catching up on emails, etc.

Later in the afternoon, my daughter and I went to get our hair cut at our usual salon. While we were there, Chris Anderson of the Denver Nuggets aka Birdman, dropped in for a haircut. Apparently, he always goes to the girl who does my daughter's hair (Kelly). While my daughter was under the hair dryer, Kelly began cutting Birdman's Hawk. It was cool because it gave us the opportunity to chit-chat with him. He is super-nice and very funny! My daughter ended up getting his autograph and then we all decided it would be soooo funny to have our picture taken with "Birdman" since I still had all the highlight foils in my hair. Yes, it did sound very funny at the time. Now...I am not so sure! hahaha!

I dyed my hair back to my natural dark brown color and added some slight burgandy highlights and my daughter went blonde with some light brown low-lights. We both LOOVE our hair and we had fun time at the salon, but then...

On our way home my tire blew out...let me tell you, this is soooo much fun, especially when you're driving on black ice and it's only 10 degrees outside - if that! It ended up taking more than two hours to get the dang spare tire on because the cheap-ass stock jack that came with my car kept sliding out from under my car due to the ice/snow on the ground. Fortunately, a very nice guy happened to see what was going on and he brought out his jack which worked so much better! I am definitely investing in a newer and much nicer jack. That'll be my New Years' Resolution!

But get this...even though this afternoon was kinda brutal, I found myself singing and laughing w/ my daughter, and I didn't feel frustrated at all throughout the entire ordeal. I mention this because a year ago (at this same time) I wasn't so happy. In fact, if felt as though life just plain sucked and I felt the world was a not-so-nice place. BUT NOT TODAY...NOPE! I am soooo happy and life is truly good. I am at peace with where I am at in my life and I am thankful for all that I am blessed with!

A new year is upon us! My family rocks, I have some the coolest friends a girl could ask for, and my family is happy and healthy! God is good and I am so glad that my frame of mind has shifted. Boy, what a difference a year makes!

Here is Mr. Birdman Himself! I will download the photo we took with him at the salon and I'll post it... unless I chicken out (you know...because of the foils in the hair and all!) Hahaha!

One of my favorite designers has some stuff coming out and I just have to get everything she creates.

I found the most awesome digital scrapping kit ever this weekend! You have to see it, it is SMASHING, FABULOUS, TOO COOL FOR WORDS, and one of those kits you just know you cannot live without!!!

In our home, music is something that represents who we are! I am so lucky that my kids' music taste is so wide-spread. They listen to everything from classical to hard core heavy metal! And the same is true for me! I think this is a kit that no digital scrapper should be without!!!

Yo, yo, yo! It's like I fell of the face of the earth!!!

Well, not really.....just fell on the face of Facebook! Holy snap, it's addicting. And yes, I have a farm in Farmville, totally dumb to some; however, I seem to have become a victim to the virtual world of farming. I swear I'll wake up nights thinking it is time to harvest my corn, or whatever is growing that day. I suppose there is only one single explanation for this: I HAVE TOO MUCH DANG TIME ON MY HANDS!

Okay, it's time to brush my horses, peace out!

Just another manic Monday....

.... I wish it were a Sunday, ohhhhh, eeeee, ohhhh! Cuz that's my Funday, ohhhhh, eeeee, oooooh! Okay, enough of my awful singing!

Today was actually quite productive for me! Yes!!!! I acutally got a lot of stuff done. I even fit in some Christmas shopping! Can you believe there is only 17 days left before Christmas? I can't! Where did this year go? It snuck right passed me.

Anyway, why am I here posting this? Hmmm.... well, it's because I would like to point your attention on over to the Bella Gypsy shop at Elemental Scraps! Black Friday is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!

I admit, I am not one to get up at 4:00 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving to rush out the door to save myself $8 on this years latest and greatest video game, nor am I willing to push and shove through a crowd of mad shoppers to get a steal-of-a-deal on a George Foreman grill or whatever it is that is on my loved ones Christmas list! HOWEVER, I will be up at 5:00 a.m. (or so) and I'll be shopping right in the comfort of my own home....sipping coffee, watching the news (or whatever) and this week you'll find me over at Elemental Scraps on Friday because I heard that there will be some fan-TAS-tic sales going on over there! I'll be right in the Bella Gypsy shop taking a peak at what those two talented girls been up to! :)

I hope you'll join me! I know how hard these ladies work and I know there will be some fun, fun stuff in their digital design shop!!!!

I cannot wait to shop!!! And while although I don't go out and fight the crazy-mad crowds, that doesn't mean I don't get my shoppin' on!

I hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones. I have so much to be grateful for this year! I must admit that when things don't go as planned in your life, it's okay. I found out that adversity makes me stronger...when someone does something that is terrible, or when someone hurts you, stand tall and know that you're able to sleep peacefully knowing that you're beautiful on the inside and out! I don't believe that people who are malicious and spiteful are at peace with themselves, although I could be wrong...

We've been counting down the days until the release of New Moon....the wait is over!! New Moon is in theaters as of TODAY! We will be going tomorrow during the day, as I think it will be a lot easier to actually get tickets! I saw on the news this morning that most all of the theaters that are in my area have sold out! This moving is breaking records! Squeeeee! I think that is so awesome!!!

I got a bit choked up when I first saw this, I am not sure why...there is just something so beautiful when your child comes alive in the form of art, especially when it's drawn by someone you care about! My First Haunted House Visit! Plus 20 new fonts!!!!

Well hello!! I thought I would drop in and add a few photos today and tell you about Amanda's new fonts!!! So here we go:

Considering everything that has gone on in my world over the past, hmmmm...let's say 14 months, life is going fairly well. October is such a busy, busy month! It seems as though there are things to do constantly and that we're on-the-go all the time, but that is a good thing. I suppose I would rather be busy than be being bored! My job search is still feverishly on! I STILL can't get over how awful the job market is!!! I have never, ever, ever seen anything like it! However, I know something good is waiting for me just around the corner and I am remaining patient and optimistic.

Last Saturday I went to a Haunted House for my first time ever. I KNOW, isn't it crazy that I am a grown woman and have NEVER been into a Haunted House??? Let me tell you, it was really, really fun, but it scared the craaaaaaap out of me! I am so glad I had my friend's arm to grab on to! I literally had a death-grip on the back of his shirt! (Sorry honey!)

Here are a few photos of our day at Elitches during the Fright Festival, it was great fun, it was so fabulous to see my friend Phil. I hadn't seen him in quite sometime! I think it was a terrific day!

Next up is a lovely picture of Phil and the kids with a nice-looking zombie! It was actually quite funny... once the "zombies" started gathering around the entrance to Elitches, they literally broke into the "Thriller" dance, you know, from the Michael Jackson Video? It was cool.

Next we have Miss Cori laying down on a tombstone! I love it! Oh, I have so many more photos I can post, but it'll have to wait. I have a few jobs that I want to apply for and then I will be watching one of my favorite shows that was Tivo'd last night!

I found a great font site!!!

I just found another AWESOME font website! I found it through a great friend of mine, the FABULOUSLY RETIRED :( Ellie Lash! It is very similar to the kevinandamanda font website that many of you may be familiar with, but obviously, there are different fonts. I don't know about you, but as a scrapbooker I find typography to be quite facinating. I mean, what better way to show emotion than to use a bold helvetica! Okay, so I am kidding a bit, but I truly believe a font can make or break a layout! So without further ado, I present to you:

So how is everyone?!? It's been a bit crazy for me lately. I just don't know where the time seems to go. I would have to say that job searching is a full-time job so that absorbs much of my time, and then there is all the other fun stuff you need to get done when you're a SAHM. Yes! I did decide that it has taken me so long to find a job that it's easier to say I am a Stay at Home Mom when someone I meet asks me what I do for a living. It's much easier than explaining that I have been job searching for over a year now!! Gosh, I never expected it would take this long... even with the TERRIBLE economy I thought the worst case scenerio would be that I was out of work for 6 months. And, I thought that was a drastic worst case scenerio!!!

I try not to let it upset me, after all, I know deep down that I am smart, I am capable and hardworking individual, I have great working experience and education, so I know it has to be the terrible economy that we're in that has caused it to take so long. I pray constantly that things will change very soon. Another shocker for me is that Christmas is right around the corner. Holy snap! THAT, my friends, floors me!

On the bright side, I have been pleasantly surprised to see the stock market's change in pace! How exciting! Although I am somewhat apprehensive to get overly excited until an upward trend has been established. Maybe we're on the way to better times. I hope. I pray.

Well folks, I think I have jabbered on enough for today! I'll leave you with a photo from my daughter's 12th Birthday party that we hosted on Saturday. We had a great time and it was wonderful to be surrounded by great friends and family. I cannot believe my daughter is 12! I have a 12-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son. I think that makes me, well, um... old!

Dane Cook....my kinda guy!

So we just got back from watching Dane Cook's ISoloated INcident at the Pepsi Center! He was awesome, on top of his game - as always! He's the kind of performer that makes you think he's speaking directly to you! I don't know how to explain it. I have been a fan for a very long time and I know how much he values his fans! Dane has gone through so much over the past few years. Ironically, many of the things he's gone through, I was going through, too. Losing a parent...then weeks later losing a friend whom I have known since childhood... just a lot of pain.

It was great to get out and laugh! And...to top it all off, I met Robery Kelly, also a fantastic comedian. I got a hug and a photograph! He's a great guy too. Too bad all of these hot comedians have to be married!! LOL!

I'll post some pictures within the next day or so! It was a fabulous time! My son, who will be 18 in a less than 2 months went with me and it was a freakin blast!!!

Cheers to Dane and Robert, both comedians I love so very much!!!

Stampin' Up! Break....A New Digital Challenge

This post is to let any/all of my Stampin' Up! friends and family know that I have officially decided to take a break from being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Obviously I will continue to use their products because I LOOOVE them. I just won't be selling anymore.

I have so much going on in my life right now something has to give. After careful consideration, I decided that if I couldn't service my Stampin' Up! customers with 110% effort, it made most sense that I step aside. If you need a new demonstrator, please let me know. I can put you in touch with one of the best!!! Alison Blair is her name and she is fabulous!

I will be keeping up with my blog and I will continue to post projects, ramblings, and pictures....You will most likely begin to see a lot of Digital Scrapbooking Layouts! I am so glad that I decided to give digital a try. I remember just about a year ago saying, "EWWW...Why would anyone want to scrap on their computer??" Well I looked into it briefly and I have been HOOKED ever since. While although paper scrapping/crafting will always be my first love, I have become very fond of the digital concept; there are soooo many possibilities!! And it's sooo fun!

I have recently decided to do a Work-A-Long digital challege that is taking place at one of my favorite scrappin' blogs, Simple Scrapper!! Head on over there and you're bound to find a lot of really, really great information.

The challenge that we're doing is a 4-week challege, and at the end of each week we'll have a layout completed. However, throughout the challenge there are certain guidelines that need to be followed AND we have to use just one kit which is TOTALLY awesome because I know I should maximize my digital supplies much more than I currently do!!

Anyway, head on over to Simple Scrapper... It's not too late to join in on the challenge/fun. I think just as long as you can complete your 1st layout by Tuesday, May 12th, at 11:59 PM EST, you're all good!

I have chosen the following kit to use throughout my project this month...

I'll be posting my progress of each page throughout the month. This is actually the first challenge I have ever really decided to do wholeheartedly! I think it'll be awesome to make a handful of layouts all with ONE kit. I am really bad about not maximizing my digital supplies!

Some Projects to Share!!

I absolutely love the "Seasons of Friendship" stamp set that was in the last holiday mini catalog. It is such a great set... I went to my friend Alison's house on Sunday and she had lots of inspiration to share with me! THANK YOU ALISON!

First up is a card
This card was fun to make. The leaves were made using the poppin' pastels technique. A simple technique of which you stamp your image using the VersaMark stamp pad, and then you chalk over your image using Stampin' Up!'s awesome chalk set! I had not used this technique before and obviously need a bit more practice, but it's fun to do so I'll be practicing a lot!

Next is a photo frame/home decor item

I think I might change and put this in a brown wooden frame and then use the white for another project. I just love how the heat-embossed leaves turned out. There is no way this photo can do justice to the actual image. It's so pretty! And I do see the glare in the frame, so I will have to take another photo, but this'll do for now!

Next is an ADORABLE mini photo album
It's a bit difficult to see in the photo, but I ran the front cover through Alison's Big Shot with the "dotted" texture place. It is absolutely adoreable...I love the texture and I am convinced that I need the Big Shot now! Thank you so much Alison, not just for the use of your Big Shot, but for all of your fabulous ideas! I am so in love with the "Purely Pomegranate" color! It's beautiful!

Next we have an extremely easy card to make! Took 3 minutes, if that!
No stamps were used, but instead I used Rubons!!! If you are in love with rubons like I am, it is an absolute MUST that you take a look at Stampin' Up's rubons. They are THE BEST QUALITY you will find anywhere! Don't get me wrong, I do have other rubons that are great, too, but Stampin' Up!'s rubons are clearly the best.

NOW, ya wanna see something really cute!!?? This is a box that you can store all of the greeting cards you make or buy! It is soooooo cute and costs less than a $1 to make!!

Alison came up with the brilliant idea to use the stiff (white) cardboard that is enclosed in all of Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper and she used that as the base. It's a great way to really maximize your supplies! It's adorable, functional, and is a fun project!!

So that's all I have for today, but I do expect to have many, many more projects to post very soon!

Andrea Gold - Truly a "Golden Girl!"

Today I wanted to share a little bit about Andrea Gold, a digital designer I met a while ago who truly has a heart of GOLD! I found Andrea a while back by visitng Go Digital Scrapbooking's website and immediately fell in love with her digital templates! First of all, they're absolutely fabulous and secondly, she offers them in THREE different sizes in each download. This was huge for me because I scrap in 12x12 and 8-1/2x11...then to top it off, she also has a a landscape verson that I didn't think I would ever use, but since have found it's the perfect size/shape for printing!!! She also designs some of the cutest digital kits!

Andrea spends a lot of time at the Go Digital Scrapbooking forums offering the coolest challenges, leaving encouraging comments to others, and not to mention all of the FREEBIE items she leaves for all of us! I am so lucky to have found her! You might want to drop by her blog or GDS and see for yourself just how great she is!

Recently she released a MASSIVE set of templates for Project 365 that will rock your world. If you're taking part in P365, I sincerely encourage you to check out the bundle she has created! It is soooooooo fabulous it's rediculous! Ziggle Designs Grab Bag #3!!!! It's a Must Have!

Okay girls and boys! I am here to give you a little tip... it's regarding the absolutely-super-duper-fabulous and awesomely cool Grab Bag #3 from Kami of Ziggle Designs!

This, my friends, is one Grab Bag of which I am sure you'll kick yourself in the face if you don't go get it now at the re-donk-ulously low cost of $3.00! I have passed up grab bags in the past unsure as to whether or not I would like its contents, but I have since learned my lesson. Yes, I know that Project 365 has become a global phenomenon! I cannot believe how many people are jumping on board to participate in this project/challenge in one way or another.

If you're not sure what P365 is, it is simply a project where you will take one photograph per day for an entire year. Obviously you can take more than that, but I believe the objective is to scrap the 365 photographs into one album, or post them on one blog, etc. I intend to scrap the entire year and what a fun album that will be.

Happy Holidays and another give-away!

Hello to all of my scrappy friends! Merry Christmas!! I hope you are having a very warm, safe and cozy Christmas...

I have been having a wonderful time with my family and friends. It is currently 9:00 am here in good ole Colorado and the kids are STILL ASLEEP! I am shocked! They have never slept this late on Christmas morning. We're usually up at the crack of dawn... each year it's always the same; I have to make coffee before I do anything! Not just on Christmas morning, but ANY morning. The kids wait with excruciating anxiety shaking packages, looking at the tags seeing whose name is listed and approximately every 2 minutes I hear, "Mom, is the coffee ready yet!?"

Well not this year!! I have already had my coffee, I have cleaned up a bit from last night's festivities and I am sitting her twiddling my thumbs! :-) There is no doubt they're getting older. We've reached a milestone here. Kids sleeping in on Christmas morning is an indication that my babies are not really "babies" anymore, as my youngest is 11, and the oldest is 17. Nevertheless, I am sure they'll be up very soon and the next set of festivities will begin.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all a blessed and beautiful day! No matter how you celebrate the holiday season, I hope it's filled with love and happiness. I hope you're left with fabulous memories of another Christmas-gone-by. I am so very blessed!! Each time I start to think that my life might not be so great I slap myself right back into reality quickly because I have a healthy family, a warm home, a fridge full of food, all my scrapbooking stuff, a car, and so much more. All of these things remind me that my life isn't meant to be taken for granted. Life is truly good!

I have wanted to post this for a few weeks now, however, each time I sat down to write something I felt I just couldn't express the profound gratitude I have for a new friend I have met online. This person offered me hope at a time in my life that wasn't so great. She gave some beautiful scrappy stuff to me, she cheered me up with her emails, and she made me laugh.

Well...as we continued to chat via email I learned that this person had literally recently lost EVERYTHING as a result of hurricane Ike. When I learned this I was so deeply affected by her willingness to give to me. I mean here is someone who has lost everything and she is offering things to me!?!? I remember at some point throughout our conversations I had referred to her as an angel (this being before I knew about her tragedy) and little did I know just how angelic she was! Many of you know that the past few months have been quite difficult for me. Losing my job with a company I love so very much was bad enough....a week later my step-father died suddenly, without warning, leaving our family stunned.

The last two weeks or so it seemed as though the storm had settled. Things were returning to normal and my life was no longer chaotic and I was beginning to be my normal, happy self again!

It's crazy how one phone call can flip your world upside down. Last Saturday, Oct 18th my niece came over to spend the night with us. Me, my niece and my daughter were having a great time.... we were making handmade cards; we were stamping, crafting, laughing and the world seemed awesome...I felt warm in my heart as I watched the kids go at it with all of their great crafting supplies.

At 9:04 PM my cell phone rang. I didn't recognize the phone number in the display so I let it roll into my voicemail. I mean who wants to interrupt some serious crafting time!??

About 10 minutes later my phone rang again. This time I did recognize the number, it was my ex-husband. I answered the phone speaking a very happy, no care in the world, "Hello?"... I am not sure exactly what was said verbatim, the conversation is a blur. However, I do know that I heard the words, "Candice, Steph died today..." Huh, what? What are you saying. This makes no sense! Surely he's not talking about my Steph who is only 34-years-old...young and healthy, so wait a minute, back up.... "What Steph are you talking about?" Even though I knew what the answer would be (because I don't call anyone else "Steph") I still hoped there was some other Steph that I was forgetting about and it wasn't THE Steph.

Well, I am sure you can already tell that, yes, it was THE same Steph I have known and cared about for 23 years of my short life. In my state of confusion, I got off the phone and called Steph's house. Her husband, who is also a friend, answered and confirmed it was true. He was calling me at 9:04 PM when I chose not to answer because I didn't recognize the phone number. He was calling from his cellular phone.

This post is about FRIENDS; friends are so precious and dear, and often times somewhat rare. All I keep thinking about is the last time I heard her voice, she was leaving me a voicemail message saying, "Call me, k?" Of course I had every intention of calling, it just seemed that each day there was too much to do, or so much to get done. Whatever the reason, it's called "taking for granted..." Taking for granted each night when I went to bed and thought, "OH shoot, I needed to call Steph...I need to do that tomorrow." The tomorrow's kept coming, but my phone call never did. And now, there will be no more phone calls to or from Stephanie (1973-2008). I will miss you, and I will always wish I would have called.

Call your friends...send them a card, shoot them an email. This is something you can do today. Because tomorrow may never come....

Thanks to everyone for their friendship and prayers. While although I am extremely sad, I am also very blessed. I have shown two friendship projects/cards that take seconds to make, but put big smiles on the faces of those you love!

Stampin Up! Markers are a MUST-HAVE!

Hello All!

Yesterday I was making a card for my daughter just to let her know I was so proud of her...There has just been so many things she has done recently which reminded me how lucky I am to have her in my life! She'll be 11 next month and it just hit me like a ton of bricks that she isn't going to be "my baby" forever. Well, actually yes, she will be "my baby" forever, but the inevitable has happened! She is growing, she is changing, and she is molding into a young lady whom I am so proud of.

So, back to the markers! The stamps I used were very detailed, very beautiful and I was so thankful to have my handy-dandy Stampin' Up! markers on-hand! Without these babies, there would be so many things that I could not do. I have recently learned that many people didn't know that the markers can be used as an "inking source" for your stamps.

1) Wrap Old Olive textured card stock around Very Vanilla Scallop Notes envelope. Apply "Friend" Rub-On using wooden stick included with Rub-Ons assortment.
2) Stamp "Perfect" definition in Old Olive ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Cut out and adhere to Old Olive strip.
3) Adhere Baja Breeze card stock to On Board frame. Sand edge using sanding blocks. Adhere frame to envelope over definition.
4) Cut out flower stem from Old Olive card stock. Adhere to envelope over frame. Stamp flower image in Riding Hood Red ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Cut out. Punch hole in center of flower using 1/16" Circle punch and insert Styled Vanilla brad through hole. Adhere flower to envelope.
5) Fold Baja Breeze Prints Designer Series paper and insert in envelope.

Okay, so as I mentioned in yesterday's post, here is the video of my daughter singing one of her favorite Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana songs! If you don't know who Hannah Montana is you're either in an Afghanistanian Cave or you're dead! Either way, I hope your travels were uneventful!

So, keep in mind my daugher is absolutely THE biggest Miley Cyrus fan in the whole-wide world!!! She uploaded her video onto the Mily Cyrus website which enters her into contest they have going on. So here goes my money train, kids! :-)

So....do you think I'll be able to ask Miley to spot me some cash??? Do we have this "win" in the bag??? I sure hope so! Haha! If we don't win, I'll be bummin'! And then my next stop will be the Oprah show. I'll be the one in the audience sporting the big neon-green sign on a stick that says, "You saved a school, now save a fool! Have you got $5.00 I can borrow?"

Of course the sign will be decked out in the cutest Stampin' Up! stamps ever and perhaps I'll even throw on some glitter and chipboard, too... I am crazy like that!

Hey All,

Today was my very last day of work for the company I have been w/ for more than 7 years. This my dear friends, makes me a full-time Stampin' Up! demonstrator until further notice. How cool is that!!!!? Especially with all of the cool new stuff SU! has to offer, and the unprecedented discounts. I am thinkin' we can't go wrong!

I hope that all you stampin' and scrappin' fans have been able to break away and have a moment to yourself to create a little something!

If you know me, you might know that I have been on a leave of absence from my awesome day job as an accountant for TWO MONTHS! I am happy to report that I went back to work yesterday and I am soooooooooooooooooooo thrilled. Being ill is never fun. It can totally bring you into a deep and dark, gnarly depression that you've never felt before. While although working full-time isn't always a "bowl of cherries" it does help if you work for an awesome company! I am extremely blessed and so fortunate to work for the awesome organization where I have been for 7 years!!! It was 7 years as of July 9th! Unbelievable how time flies by so fast as we get older. Why is that?? I don't think there is anyone who has ever been able to explain that to me... but we all know that it is sooooo true.

I hope that you Stampin' Up! fans are excited about the new catalog release that will occur next month! I am so incredibly excited because there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many awesome new releases! If you would like to pre-order your catalog so that it is shipped out the day I receive them, please let me know! I will ship them out via Priority USPS Mail the day they arrive!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO YOU!

This morning the very first thing my daughter said to me was, "Happy July 4th, Mom!"

In our home, Independence Day happens to be one of our favorite holidays. Of course the BBQ's are great, the fireworks are fabulous, and seeing our family and friends is spectacular! However, when it comes down to it, there is a profound reason that we appreciate this holiday! You don't have to be a major American History buff to know what we're truly celebrating. This day commemorates the Declaration of Independence, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. When I think of Independence Day, it is the great words of Thomas Jefferson that I remember most; I only wish this was something that I didn't take for granted each day. It shouldn't be once per year that I am reminded of this:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

One day when my daughter was a bit younger, she asked me, "Why are we so lucky to live here....?" I think she must have noticed my confusion regarding her question so she continued, "Why does God let other people be born in countries that are bad?" It was this day that I realized that somewhere along the way I had blurred the lines between being proud of who we are and the country we live in with something else much more confusing. I have since made sure that she is aware that there are so many wonderful countries across the globe. For whatever reason, it was in God's plans for us to be here.... In America! And being proud of our country does not mean that we don't extend our love and respect across the globe. It doesn't mean that we don't admire and appreciate so many other countries in this world, we most certainly do. However, we are here and we are blessed, we are loyal and we are proud...

We are proud to be Americans... Happy July 4th to you and to all those you love.

Yes, today is a brand new year for all of us at Stampin' Up!. Many of us are setting new goals, checking out the sneak peeks for our newest catalog that will be released in August, and celebrating our accomplishments from the year that we just left behind!

I have been doing all of the above AND I have been thinking about how blessed I am to have such wonderful, awesome, and crafty friends in my life.

I know that I said I have an awesome project to post, and it is still going to be posted; however, it has taken longer than I had planned to get all of my "electronic" documents together and then post! But, it will in fact be posted very soon.

Okay, so it's the new year.... we can't start the new year without having some sort of new club.

You know how we all want all the beautiful embellishements that we can get our hands on, right?? Well, I have found a way that you ladies can get your hands on a whole bunch of Stampin' Up! embellishments at a very, very small cost. Here is how it would work:

I want to begin a SHARING CLUB!!

This will be the first embellishment share club before the New catalog comes out in August. This awesome "share" is my way of thanking you for your customer loyalty and to help you get the products you love with a budget-friendly option. And I know my customers, you all love to SHARE, so I think this is the perfect solution for all!!

This Sharing Club is perfect for local customers as well as those of you all over the country!! When I share, my rule is I share with EVERYONE!!

Here is how the Embellishment Sharing Club will work:

- Memberships will be accepted starting July 1st and will end July 15th at 12:00 noon MST.

- Membership is confirmed when PayPal payment is received. If you're interested, email me right away, once we have 5 members, the first club will be considered "closed" and I will send each of you your PayPal invoices! It's that simple!

- To recap: all you need to do is email me! The cost to join is $30 if I ship your kit, and $25 if you pick up your kit. Keep reading so you can see ALL OF THE WONDERFUL EMBELLISHMENTS you will receive for this one-time only payment!

Hey Kids!

I figured I better hop online and say something on my blog! Ya never know, there might be people logging on day-in and day-out just hanging on the edge of their seat waiting to read what I have to say next. It could happen!

Not a whole lot has changed since the last time I wrote. Hmmmm, let's see....

The Stampin' Up! fiscal year is just about to close. June 30th is the last day of the business year! It is also the very last day you can take advantage of my fabulous discount and other promotions! So hop to it, get those wish lists out and start shopping! And please let me know if there is anything at all I can do to assist you, I hope you know I am just a phone call or email away!

I am still battling this whole illness thing and I appreciate all of you who have offered your support and encouragement. It has meant so much to me. This has been an extremely rough time, but it truly does make it seem somewhat better just knowing that people are sending their warm wishes.

Okay, so I did it.... Yep, me....I know it's unbelievable, but YES!! I took the plunge! No....not the Nestea Plunge!!! The BLOG PLUNGE!

I actually decided to create my very own blog!! And yes, I admit, there was a time when I just shook my head in disbelief over this huge blog phenomena. I thought to myself, "A blog?? Why the heck would anyone need a blog?" I mean what happened to the good old fashioned diary? Are we that technologically dependent that we can't even jot down our thoughts into something that isn't plugged into an outlet or a network cable anymore?? Well, I finally came to my senses and realized, "DUH! If I am writing in my diary or journal....I won't know if someone is emailing or instant messaging me! So....thus, here I am! (crap....hang on, I think an email just came in....)

Okay, I am back! It wasn't anything important....just someone insisting I need Viagra. Okay, so where was I? Oh, yes....this blog thingy. Aside from the fact that I have resolved that my diary won't "ding" at me letting me know that I have mail, I began to realize this blog thing could be a very valuable tool in keeping my friends, family members and my ever-so-wonderful Stampin' Up! pals informed. We'll see how this goes. I have to admit, I am a bit excited about knowing people might just be reading stuff that I have to say. I wonder if my ears will ring when.....no, that's dumb....I bet they won't. You'll have to pardon me, as my thoughts will tend to trail from time to time. However, now it's time to focus.....

So.... what's been going on with me lately? To tell you the truth, a whole lot of BAD stuff.... I have been ill since the beginning of May. I have a very LONG history of health issues relating to kidney infections and kidney stones and without going into much detail and boring you all, I'll just say it's been a super-miserable ride; a ride I never wish to get on ever again. Kidney stones are hands down THE most painful thing a human can endure. I mean imagine taking a hammer and bashing yourself in the nose - repeatedly.... to me, that sounds like fun when compared to passing kidney stones. Yes, I tell you no lies...

Okay, so enough of that. I wanted to talk about this online class titled, "Got Sketch? 101" that I decided to join. It is hosted by Valerie Salmon and Janna Wilson who are two of the most talented scrapbook artist's I know. As you can probably tell from the title of the class, each "lesson" is based upon a sketch design by either Janna or Valerie along with a project sheet/instructions and then off you go to create your own. Well, this may not sound like much, but if you know either of these two women, they are sooooooo talented. They have pulled out all the stops and have delivered some serious inspiration!! These gals never cease to amaze me. It was the best $21 I have spent since I bought that "clap-on clap-off" thingy years ago.... (kidding!)

Seriously, you should drop by and check it out. It's is THE best online class I have taken....well, since I became an Ordained Minister online back in the '80's!! It's not too late to sign up!! Click on the Got Sketch logo to the right.....Of course you don't have to use the same materials as shown in each lesson and you can interpret the sketch however you see fit. It is actually quite amazing to see all of the many layouts that are posted based on one single sketch and yet how unique each and every layout turns out. And I was kidding... I am not really an Ordained Minister...just don't say anything to to those friends of mine who think they're "married"! The joke is on them, eh!?

I love this class because it has helped me think outside of the box. It has brought me out of my comfort zone completely! I am actually completing my layouts in digital format....this decision was primarily because I have been sick and didn't feel like making a big mess of my scrap space AND I have wanted to try digital scrapbooking for a very long time. So far it's been going really slow, but I have enjoyed learning how to use PaintShop Pro.

Okay you wild and crazy kids.... I am signing out for now. However, you'll want to come back in the next few days because I have a wonderful project to share with you!!! Not from the Got Sketch class, but one that won't disappoint, I promise!
